Ina Garten has been a popular American cookbook author for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina Garten started her career as a journalist at the White House where she wrote nuclear energy policies and budget documents. Although she found her job intellectually stimulating initially eventually she lost her interest in it and decided to purchase a smaller specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the store extremely successful before selling it off and picking up the pen to write her first cookbook. Numerous different cookbooks and magazines came later. The Food Network television program also debuted and quickly became popular. Also, Ina sells products that range from food items to storage containers and tools. Ina is a cook who has learned by herself who has not attended a cooking school or worked in a kitchen. Her name is ascribed to her simple style of cooking as well as her easy take on entertainment. Some of her most popular recipes include the Skillet-Roasted lemon Chicken Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac and Cheese Beef Bourguignon Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lemon Bars.
